Dan Le Batard is likely to get the nod as the replacement for Colin Cowherd’s coveted time slot on ESPN Radio.
Cowherd has left ESPN for FOX Sports, and the four-letter network is testing out a variety of potential replacements in the meantime. It appears their desire is to have the Miami-based Le Batard fill the spot. Le Batard, who already hosts “Highly Questionable” on TV, is said to be on board with the move.
The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson says all that is left is negotiating with Le Batard’s on-air sidekick, Stugotz.
Le Batard currently hosts four hours of radio per day for 104.3 The Ticket in Miami. The show is simulcast on ESPN Radio from 4-7 p.m. ET, while the 3-4 p.m. hour is local only. Cowherd’s slot is from 10-1 p.m. ET.
I rarely listened to Cowherd, but I do like Le Batard’s show. Signing Stugotz is a must as that gives the show its extra personality.
