Chad Shanks was the social media manager for the Houston Rockets until earlier this week, when he tweeted what many — including the team — considered an unprofessional shot at the Dallas Mavericks. For the record, here’s what it looked like:
Shanks was then fired.
Some thought the Rockets, and the world, were too hard on Shanks. One of those people was Dan Le Batard, who had Shanks on his ESPNRadio show today to talk about what happened, and after trying to get him to rat on his former employers, actually hired him on the air to run their Twitter account (through the weekend). Shanks’ job starts tonight and runs through Saturday:
I'm about to jump on the @LeBatardShow account to start my weekend takeover. He is unbelievably trusting.

Shanks had a sense of humor about his first gig since getting canned, and has been putting out some pretty good tweets so far tonight:
This is @chadjshanks, starting my takeover. Looking for emojis that correspond w/ @nfl teams for the #NFLDraft, but will avoid the Broncos.

Big fan of my hometown @HoustonTexans defense. Worried they'll lose a lot 13-9, but hope to continue my recent streak of being wrong.
